Netflix’s breakout hit series ‘Wednesday’ is getting ready for a very exciting new season, retooled with the cast and location where it shoots, as it is now to be set in Ireland. Following a groundbreaking season in Romania, production decided to move lock, stock, and barrel to the Emerald Isle, promising a change in background, new and exciting, for the Addams family’s gothic adventures.
Multi-hyphenate Jenna Ortega, who starred in her first season as the iconic Wednesday Addams, leads a cast of the most revered actors and breakout stars today. She is joined by series regulars Billie Piper and Steve Buscemi, who have a long list of credits and recognitions to their names.
And, as this list wraps, rounding out the series’ new series regulars are Noah Taylor, just off an arc on the latest hit ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime,’ Evie Templeton, fresh off the success of ‘Return to Silent Hill,’ and Owen Painter, who wowed audiences in ‘Tiny Beautiful Things’: both series regulars who will bring new energy to the cast.
There’s an added surprise to this, though. A few good veteran actors are also lined up to do guest roles; among these will be the likes of Christopher Lloyd, who played Uncle Fester in the 1991 film Addams Family, and Joanna Lumley, whose comic timing in Fool Me Once has the audience in splits.
She will be joined by Thandiwe Newton, who put on an impressive show in ‘Westworld,’ and Frances O’Connor, who has wowed audiences in ‘The Missing.’ Rounding up the cast list are Joonas Suotamo from the Star Wars film series, Heather Matarazzo from “The Princess Diaries,” and Haley Joel Osment from “The Kominsky Method.”
Also added to the returning cast are Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, all of whom have been promoted to regulars for series regularity and viewer familiarity.
